Very well said indeed! As you say, to call out evil is to place on yourself the burden of opposing it. I suppose it's a bit like facing death. Most people spend most of their lives pretending it won't happen to them, while also being acutely conscious that it will. There's a reason for all those memento mori in the paintings of the old masters. We humans are so terribly apt to forget the things that are of most importance.

This is a deep and stunning truth. Once again, Dennis has a gift for clarity. If people call evil what it is, then they are obligated to not do that evil, but as corruptible beings, sometimes we want to do evil, and we don’t want anyone telling us not to.
